And then there was PITCH

What to do when you’re not on vacation in July & August? And what to do when the sun is shining? You go to festivals! After the couple of festivals I have visited I came to the conclusion that many festivals almost look and sound the same, in music and visitors. Open Air was definitly my best one, FYM was my hometownglory one, but this years Pitch Festival made me wanna go ‘WRAAHHHHH’. Unfortunately I was too tired after Berlin to go straight to Pitch on Friday but my Saturday visit was awesome! The sun was shining, music loving visitors and true fans of elektro music. I had expected a hipster galore but found out we had a true mix of Berlin/Stockholm swag kind of ppl present here in Amsterdam…And where could you find me? I enjoyed Shlomo, the genius guy mixing RnB classics, hiphop, beatbox with elektro sounds, from Aaliyah’s one in a million to Christina Aguilera where he managed to get the crowd sing a long with the catchy
‘Genie in a bottle’. I really was looking forward to see Die Antwoord… The alienesque South African group was crazy! People went wild looking at the huge muscled DJ and the two lead singers in crazy outfits. Most striking person (even though the whole group looked weird..) was the small girl with the squeeky weird voice jumping and dancing around singing ‘I fink you’re freaky and I like it a lot’ named Yo-Landi Vi$$er. Then Mr. Ozio (Monsieur Waseau) blast the whole crowd with his elektro sounds! When walking around we met two beautiful girls who handed us a key which brought us to a secret location somehwere in the Gasthouder. You had to knock on the hidden door where I had to hand over the key and before I knew it.. I was teleported away from the festival, loud music, hectic crowd and got back in time, back to the 30′s where a woman sang Jazz music and where we could sit down and relax with a served Bacardi Mai Tai cocktail & Mohijto. WOW… what a day… A party experience you shouldn’t have missed!
