Artist Tom Sachs and Nike have come together to collaborate. The New York City based artist, best known for recreating Le Corbusier’s Unité d’Habitation using only foam core and a glue gun, has teamed up with Nike on a capsule collection that combines Sach’s scrappy do-it-yourself ethos, his preoccupation with space exploration, and the sportswear giant’s yen for performance innovation called, NIKECraft. Launched on the eve of Tom’s SPACE PROGRAM: Mars, where the artist simulates a mission to the Red Planet, the joint venture fuses the design sensibility Sachs brings to space travel. The collection is available at 11 exclusively selected stores worldwide (290 Square Meters in Amsterdam) …

Urban Photo Safari

Yesterday I was invited for the HTC Urban Photo Safari at the NDSM Area in Amsterdam. Here we could test the new HTC One X. This is the latest superb HTC Android smartphone that packs in just about every key feature you can think off. The HD screen is the best we’ve ever seen, its quad core processor is mighty fast, its camera impressive and its design is reasonably smart…

During the event we got a short workshop from professional photographer Sylvia Alonso and could test the camera on the best skaters. in the Netherlands. This resulted in very interesting action shots. With the One X you can apply a variety of Instagram-like filters to your photos, and the camera software features a “burst mode” that allows you to take pictures in rapid succession and keep the one you like the best… This is the ultimate gadget must have… and no worries, you can download Instagram and basically all other apps on android phones…

My first Radio appearance

Yesterday I was in the radio show of two enthousiastic ladies called ‘Radiomeisjes‘ (Radio Girls). In every show they have three guests… The business woman, the talent and the Hunk… In case you haven’t noticed, I’m not a woman and I don’t have a particular talent like singing, rapping, playing the violon or sports… So the ladies asked me if I would appear as Hunk and answer some sharp questions about life, love and work… As long as I could keep my clothes on, I was ok with everything (Imagine me as hunk??? Sistemsiz at OT 301

When you go clubbin’ in Berlin it’s like WHOA…. Mega industrial, creative, mysterious and super underground. If you love that… You have to go to this Amsterdam based party called Sistemsiz.. A party that fuses elements of minimal, hip hop, tech house, bubbling, heavy bass, & grime… Initiated with the intention to once create the ideal club-night. Meaning; a night where a wide range of people independent of age, (cultural) background, lifestyle or being part of the so-called Amsterdam in-crowd would be present, because of their equal passion and appreciation for the best selection of (upcoming) artists, DJ’s and music from all over the world. Last Friday I was present at OT 301 to listen to the beats by Dubbel Dutch (USA), FS Green (NL), Eaglemen (NL)… Check out the party pics…

Chillin’ out loud

While the whole country was celebrating Independence day yesterday, I was undergowing a severe hangover (maaaaaaan…. don’t think I’m an alcoholic now) from Friday night’s party Sistemsiz (pictures coming online soon). So I had a little coffee, had some Dim Sum with family and strolled around the city enjoying the Independence Day concert on Dam Square. We ended up watching two movies… The Avengers (just amazing, want to see it again) and Intouchables… I’m still in awe of the last one… It made me realise that life is too short… much too short…
